Terms of Service

The following Terms of Service govern your access to https://www.bhutanacorn.com and use of the services provided by Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel, a tour operator based in Thimphu and licensed by the Royal Government of Bhutan.

1. USE OF CONTENT

All information, materials, services, products and other content available in or offered through this website are the property of Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel. Some of the materials in this website are provided by our licensors. By using this website you agree that you do not acquire any ownership rights by downloading or viewing the content of this website. This website is intended for audiences over the legal age of majority who can legally form binding agreements under the applicable laws. You may not otherwise use this website.

2. INCLUSION IN THE PRICE

All tours offered by Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel includes the following. Please check each tour for details of Inclusions and Exclusions.

  • Visa Fee & Processing
  • All internal taxes
  • Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) to the Royal Government of Bhutan
  • Twin sharing accommodation in a 3-star hotel inspected and certified by the Royal Government of Bhutan (premium accommodations available at extra charges)
  • All meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) with a standard menu at hotels. A buffet will be arranged most of the time
  • Tour guide licensed by the Tourism Council of Bhutan
  • Round trip airport transfers and land transportation with a dedicated driver within Bhutan for the entire duration of your stay
  • Admission fees to the parks, Museums and other monuments
  • Porter and pony charges for trekking tours
3. EXCLUSION IN THE PRICE
  • Flight – We can help you arrange your flight to/from Bhutan. Please let us know in advance if you need help. Click here to see how to get into Bhutan.
  • Single Supplement of US$30 per night
  • Wire transfer fee ( in case of fund transfers through a bank)
  • Credit card transaction fee (in case of payment through online)
  • Travel Insurance. Travel Insurance. We highly recommend you take out insurance before travelling. Insurance is required for all trekking adventures. We recommend WorldNomads.com.
  • Emergency evacuation cost
  • Alcoholic beverages, Laundry services, telephone call charges
  • Cultural shows that require advance arrangement
  • Tips to your guides and driver
  • Any other expenses of personal nature
4. STUDENT DISCOUNT

Students between the age of 13-24 years old can get discounts only upon submission of a valid copy of student ID card/document from their academic institution. The document should be still valid at the time of exiting the country. Otherwise, the full adult price will apply.

5. PRIVACY

We value and respect your privacy as it is important to us. We may collect information from you to provide our services to you and to enable you to use some features of this website. We guarantee that we will never share the personal information provided by you with any third parties. Please read our Privacy Policy available on this website.

6. CREATING USER ACCOUNT

We allow our customers to book tour packages without creating a user account. However, we strongly encourage you to create one so that you can keep track of your booking and payment status and access some features of our website. Should you choose to create a user account, you must provide accurate, truthful and complete information. Upon creation of your account, you will be provided with a user ID and password to access your account. This user ID and password are confidentially and securely stored at Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel. It is your responsibility to keep your user ID and password safe and not reveal or disclose to anyone. You are responsible for any changes or activities that take place in your account. If you want to delete your user account, please contact us at info@bhutanacorn.com or fill up our contact form or you can even send a written request by postal mail to our office.

7. PAYMENT

To confirm your reservation, it is mandatory to pay the full cost of the tour prior to your arrival in Bhutan. As per the government’s regulation, your visa will be processed and approved only upon receiving the full payment of the tour. We provide two payment options to our customers:

  • Payment by direct bank transfer OR
  • Highly secured online payment by credit card; we use Worldline e-Payment Services to process online payment
8. TAXES

Pricing for all the tour packages or services provided by Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel is inclusive of all taxes.

9. CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS

In the event you decide to cancel your reservation, a written cancellation notice must be submitted to info@bhutanacorn.com or by postal mail. The record date will be the next business day after receipt of the cancellation notice at our office. Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel will confirm in writing the receipt of your cancellation notice. If the day of receipt of the cancellation notice is a public holiday, the next working day shall be considered as a record date.

Below is the schedule of cancellation fee:

  • A flat administrative fee of US$100 per person will be charged if cancellation notice is received more than 30 days before your arrival date in Bhutan.
  • 20% of the total cost will be charged if cancellation notice is received within 16-29 days before your arrival date.
  • 50% of the total cost will be charged if cancellation notice is received within 8-15 days before your arrival date.
  • No refund is available if cancellation notice is received within 0-7 days before your arrival date.
  • In the case of trekking, no refund is permitted if the trek could not be completed due to inclement weather conditions or illness. However, accommodation and meals will be provided as required under the minimum daily tariff.

In the event you want to postpone your reserved trip, there shall be no charge. However, airline companies may have their own policies for changing travel dates. Please check  Drukair at www.drukair.com.bt and Bhutan Airlines at www.bhutanairlines.bt for information.

10. FLIGHTS

We recommend you to check the flight availability before you book the tour. You can book the flights online by yourself, or allow us to handle at no extra fees by letting us know the date you plan to arrive in Bhutan, from where you’ll fly into Bhutan and your next destination after Bhutan. There are only two international airlines that operate to and from Bhutan (Paro) – www.drukair.com.bt and www.bhutanairlines.bt. The flights during the high season get fully booked months in advance and so do the hotel rooms.

The two airlines have their own cancellation and refund policy which you can find on their websites.

11. HOTEL ACCOMMODATION

All our partner hotels are certified by the Tourism Council of Bhutan and are carefully selected based on the recommendations and experiences of our past clients. We always inform our clients which hotels they will be staying in before their arrival. No surprises and disappointments! You will also have a unique opportunity to stay at certified homestays/farmhouses with a local family.

12. DELAYED ARRIVAL OR DEPARTURE

There shall be no charges for the number of days of delay either during arrivals or departures or both, due to weather conditions, communication problems, cancellation or delay in Bhutanese airline flights, sickness or any other legitimate reason as Tourism Council of Bhutan (TCB) may deem reasonable. However, the Tourist will be charged on the actual expenses on accommodation, food, transport and any other services provided.
