Tariffs and Payment

How much does it cost to visit Bhutan?

Tourist tariffs and discounts are regulated by the Royal Government of Bhutan and are applicable per person per night halt within Bhutan. Tour operators are strictly guided and monitored by the Government to ensure that the national policy of “High value, Low Impact” is effectively followed and implemented. There is no restriction on the number of visitors as misunderstood by many travel enthusiasts around the world. However, there is an all-inclusive minimum daily tariff fixed by the government for all tour packages as listed below:

  • During low season of January, February, June, July, August and December – US$200 per person per night halt for double occupancy / twin sharing
  • Extra US$30 per person per night halt will be charged for a single room occupancy (single supplement)
  • In a group of three persons, if one member is a child below five years, the group shall be treated as a FIT group of two persons and surcharge will be applicable.

  • Single visitors – a surcharge of US$40 per night is charged in addition to the minimum daily rate
